Gears

The up-and-over panel doors are manufactured with either a CANOPY or RETRACTABLE gear

On a canopy garage door the spring runs across the frame at the top of the door. When the handle is turned and pressure is applied to the panel, the spring pulls large diameter rollers upwards inside steel tracks either side of the door. The panel is supported by tubular steel lifting arms throughout the process. The door finally clicks into a ‘punch-out’ at the top of each track to provide an anti-fall safeguard for protection in the event of strong winds or a mechanical fault.

Canopy doors are safe, simple to fit and offer maximum width for you garage opening.

On a retractable garage door the spring mechanism consists of either one or a collection of springs fitted to both sides of the door. When the panel is opened the springs compress downwards. This in turn pulls one end of a link arm. The other end of the arm completes a four-point suspension which precisely guides rollers (attached either side on the top of the panel) along constructed tracks that run backwards inside the garage. The rollers eventually rest inside cups built in at the back of each track to provide the same anti-fall safeguard as on a canopy door.

Retractable doors are quiet, very safe and exclude any ‘overhang’ outside the garage. Plus where the arms are set higher up the door it can cater for wider cars wing mirrors through tight opening.

Side-Hinged only doors that don't take up any space inside the garage.

The Three Types Of Door Materials:

Steel Doors

The classic Steel doors have an extremely durable door leaf reinforcement on a wide special box section frame. The steel-made doors come in powder coat enamel white, brown, green, blue, red, black and a popular foil coat wood effect golden oak, rosewood.

Steel Insulated Doors

Steel insulated doors are another example of steel doors. This is used for sectionals and roller doors.

Timber Doors

The traditional timber doors are built with hand-crafted panels together with high quality joinery. With its finely figured grain Cedar wood is the main material used for these panels. They all come secured into our open-for-infill leaf frame (which can be bought separately) in order to ensure the stability of the working components of the door.

No Longer Fitted

Fiberglass

Although still available, this does not come recommended by us, as it is damaging to the environment to dispose of and has been discovered to be a fire risk. Therefore we no longer fit this material door as it is unsafe.

Styles

Of course all of our doors come in a variety of styles. They range from simple, effective ribbed designs to more elegant and attractive paneled forms, but all as structurally secure as each other.

Doors come with windows, the windows come in various designs.

We also recommend to you a factory-fitted steel frame (3 inches wide). These frames are finished in the same tough powder coated paint as the door you wish to choose. They offer maintenance-free support to the door which supersedes the strength and longevity of a wooden frame, along with making the complete door set more attractive.
